Riddells Creek Community Bank Project

The essence of the Community Bank concept is that we will share the responsibility and rewards between our community and our bank.

Riddells Creek, originally settled in 1841, is a beautiful hamlet located on the southern foothills of the Macedon Ranges. It provides rural scenery, a relaxed country lifestyle and historic architecture, including two historic railway bridges. Within the Macedon Ranges Shire it is serviced by a railway station on the Bendigo line.

With a population of around 3800 people Riddells Creek is home to many families, a primary school, kindergartens, sporting clubs, a variety of community organisations and many local businesses.

Riddells Creek has never had a local bank branch and residents have had to travel to nearby townships such as Sunbury and Gisborne to obtain a full range of banking services.

With a growing population and an increasing number of sporting clubs and community organisations in the township, there is an ever increasing call for community assistance to fund community activities and projects.

We want a Community Bank in Riddells Creek because it will deliver quality banking services, local employment opportunities, keep local capital in the community and provide a source of revenue for important community projects determined by our local community. Many clubs in Riddells Creek have already benefitted from grants made by the Gisborne Community Bank.
